9/3/2009 Committee members needed!!!!!! Family of Rotary
Cynthia Overlandmiller is our new chair of the "Family of Rotary" Committee. She would love to have you come join her in working on this committee. The committee was formed two years ago with the following mission:
Purpose: The Rotary International Family of Rotary Task Force has been established to provide information and support for Rotary clubs and districts in an effort to pursue the first Object of Rotary, which is to encourage and foster the development of acquaintances as an opportunity for service. The Family of Rotary Task Force will encourage clubs to care for Rotarians and members of Rotary's extended family (spouses, children, and parents) and remember souses of deceased Rotarians.
Duties:
- Contact sick Rotarians in their homes and ensure any needs are met
- Encourage spouses, children and parents of Rotarians to participate in service projects
- Support the family of deceased Rotarians in their time of need
- Find ways to honor or memorialize Rotary Club members in the community
- Develop and initiate a new project in support of the Family of Rotary
- Celebrate births, weddings and graduations
- Invite family to special programs
